Hunter Overby is an actor, artist, and builder working and living in New York.

Born in rural Tennessee, Hunter Overby spent the majority of his childhood in the woods when he wasn’t in his father’s woodshop or working with the cattle on the neighbor’s farm. Much of his young adult life was spent in Knoxville, TN working as a cook in a vegan friendly restaurant and it wasn't until 2012 that he decided to go to college to make an attempt at a degree. Having always shown an aptitude for building and mechanics, Hunter attended Pellissippi State Community College where he studied mechanical engineering. Finding the realities of engineering to be very different from his vision and ultimately unfulfilling, Hunter decided to head over to the theatre department after a few long conversations with a trusted professor. It didn't take long for him to realize that he had finally found his calling. Within the first two weeks, he had been cast in his first play and had been asked to assist the schools technical director for the season.

It was in his second semester of community college theatre that he was scouted for an acting scholarship to the University of Wyoming where he spent a year. While at UW, he was cast in A Midsummer Night's Dream with Actors From The London Stage, a theatre company co-founded by Patrick Stewart. Until that point, Hunter had little interest in classical plays but that experience sparked a love for Shakespeare and his contemporaries. After his year in Wyoming, and having completed nearly all the theatre classes needed, he decided to head back to Tennessee and finish his general education requirements from Middle Tennessee State University where he spent most of his time studying sculpture, photography, and horseback riding. Upon receiving his theatre degree, Hunter set his sights on a graduate degree. Deciding to focus on the classics, he was accepted to train at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) where he was awarded an MA in Classical Performance. He now resides in New York where he works as an actor.
